WAN-IFRA derives its authority from its global network of 3,000 news publishing companies and technology entrepreneurs, and its legitimacy from its 60 member publisher associations representing 18,000 publications in 120 countries.
WAN-IFRA has been advocating for more, improved climate journalism since 2013 as part of its Science in the Newsroom programme. Today the heightened sense of responsibility and understanding of the pivotal role newsrooms must play in fostering awareness and driving discussions on environmental issues, puts climate reporting at the centre of newsroom engagement. As the climate crisis intensifies, the need for comprehensive and impactful reporting in Asia has never been more critical.
